Mrs and Mrs Harrison had a medium sized kitchen requiring a new layout with some building work. The client visited our showroom and arranged for a site visit.
They wanted building work to replacing an external door and replace it with a new matching window, better positioning of the appliances and to maximize the worktop and storage space. Their preferred style was a shaker kitchen with a modern twist.
After looking at the shaker door styles we then picked a high gloss finish, which gave a modern/ classic look, coupled with a lighter quartz worktop to lighten the kitchen. Once we had changed the external door to a window we achieved more worktop space so we could then fit in a large bank of tall appliance units and larder cupboards. The client requested the Neff slide and hide single ovens, which we incorporated into the design along with compact appliances above and integrated fridge and freezer.
Mr and Mrs Harrison also requested a breakfast bar for two with enough space to fit a circular table and to allow space for a television and wine rack area.
The first job was to block the door up and fit a new window to match the existing windows in the kitchen. New ceiling spotlights and sockets were fitted followed by the full kitchen and ceiling being plastered. Under floor heating was then fitted ready for the joiner to fit the kitchen units. Once the units were in place the worktop was templated, fabricated and installed. While the worktop was being constructed we fitted a new porcelain tiled floor.
The new space works fantastically as the client is a keen cook and often cooks for 8 or more people.
Mrs and Mrs Harrison both said that the space now feels modern bright and functional, with some featured glazed wall cupboards.
